Raquinel (C) wins the WBO belt in South Africa.
NEWLY-CROWNED World Boxing Organization Inter-Continental super flyweight champion Jay-r “The Dreamer” Raquinel of Negros Occidental is the Boxer of the Month by the Games and Amusement Board.
The 25-year-old Raquinel is currently on vacation in their province.
“It's next year after my wife gives birth to our third baby,” said Raquinel when asked when he will return to Manila.
Currently they are still looking for the name of baby. Raquinel, who is married to Pinky, already has two kids - Jay ven and Ar-jay.
“It's labor next month,” said Raquinel.
Raquinel is not yet training.
“I’m happy because of the new achievement. And I thank the people behind all my achievements,” said Raquinel.
Among the people Raquinel thanked are promoter Brico Santig, Jun Tortosa, Rinly Gecosala and former GAB chairman Monju Guanzon.
Raquinel scored a 2nd round technical knockout against Landi Noxeke of South Africa to win the vacant WBO Inter-Continental super flyweight title last October 23, 2022 in East London.
