ALDU Sanman, C’zarles enter finals in Tagum Open

ALDU Sanman put up a late rally in the last quarter to beat MJE Junex Tuna, 82-74 to enter the finals of the Tagum Open Invitational basketball tournament last night, November 19 at the Rotary Gym in Tagum City.

ALDU Sanman mentored by Rael Diaz faces C’zarles Construction of Butuan City for the championship tomorrow at 6:30 p.m.

Sanman was behind by 13 points, 49-62 in the 3rd quarter. But it managed to cut its deficit to just one point, 61-62.

MJE put another rally with back-to-back hits to lead again, 63-69 in the last 8:30. But Sanman also came back with its own hits to take the lead again, 70-69.

Sanman never came down again; they led, 74-69 with two minutes remaining.

Sanman, owned by 2nd District Rep. Alan Dujali and Arman Sanano, was led by Mohammed Tosh Sesay and Lassina Coulibaly.

C’zarles, on the other hand, took an early lead and never looked back to beat Khalifa of Tacloban City, 78-72 in the other semifinal game.

The Constructors enjoyed their biggest lead, 62-44 in the 3rd quarter. Khalifa cut their deficit to just five points, 73-68 in the 4th quarter.

The tournament, which started last November 15 was also participated by Imus Bandera of Manila, Nobles Seafoods and Grills of Cagayan de Oro, Sirius Star Pilipinas of Cebu and Ratim Idol Ko Si Kap of Maco.

The tournament is held in celebration of the Tagum City Parochial Fiesta. It is presented by CM Farm, J Project Clothing Shop, Torrefranca Brothers in cooperation with Mayor Rey Uy and Vice Governor Carlo “Oyo” Uy.
