Laurente.
UNDEFEATED Criztian Pitt Laurente of General Santos City will be in Manila on November 18 for his most awaited fight in the revival of the Blow-by-Blow boxing program.
The 22-year-old Laurente will face veteran JR “Star Boy” Magboo of Mindoro Oriental in the main event for the vacant Philippines Boxing Federation (PBF) super featherweight title on November 20 at the Mandaluyong City College Gym.
Laurente has a clean record of 10 wins with no defeat and has six knockouts. He already has two wins this year.
The southpaw Laurente first scored a 2nd round knockout against Vicente Casido of Dumaguete City last February 26 at the Sanman Gym in Gensan.
He then beat Richard Bulacan of Carmen, Davao del Norte, by a unanimous decision in 10-rounds last June 18 in Mobo.
“I am very blessed that I was given a big break in my career,” said Laurente.
Laurente thanked Sen. Manny Pacquiao, who is bringing Blow-by-Blow back in the hopes of discovering new talents.
But Laurente is not taking Magboo lighty for he is a veteran.
“We can't be confident because he also fought George Kambosos,” said Laurente.
Kambosos from Australia was the former IBF, WBA, WBC and WBO world lightweight champion.
Laurente is currently sparring with WBF Asia lightweight champion Guillaume Lorenzo of France and WBF super lightweight champion Junrick Carcedo.
“I’m also sparring with different boxers from the Sanman Gym,” said Laurente.
“It’s a big advantage for me since he is my father and trainer. At first I’m his son so it means he wants the best for me,” said Laurente,
Laurente said that his father Titing doesn’t want him to get hurt on the ring that is why he teaches me the right way.
“He corrects me in my previous fights and he pushes me in my sparring sessions,” said Laurente.
