
NBA Daily: Gilgeous-Alexander Explodes for 42 to Help Thunder Edge Wizards 121-120

Las Vegas, Nevada – Shai Gilgeous-Alexander drilled a 3-pointer with 1.1 seconds left to match his career high 42 points and help the Oklahoma City Thunder eke out a come-from-behind 121-120 victory over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night (Thursday morning, Philippine time) at the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC. He shot 14-for-22 from the field, including 2-for-3 from deep, and made 12 of his 17 attempts from the charity stripe, to go along with 6 rebounds, 7 assists, and one block.
Gilgeous-Alexander was especially explosive in the second half, pouring 30 of his 42 points and making 9 of his 10 field goal attempts during that span and spearheaded the Oklahoma City rally to overcome the Wizards’ largest lead at 17. Luguentz Dort added 15 markers for the Thunder, who improved to 7 wins against 8 losses.
Kristaps Porzingis led Washington with 27 on 8-for-15 field goal shooting, including 4-for-7 from the rainbow territory. Bradley Beal, who gave Washington its last lead with 6.1 seconds left, finished with 25 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block for the Wizards, who dropped to an 8-7 win-loss card.
The Oklahoma City Thunder will next face the Grizzlies in Memphis on Friday night (Saturday morning, Philippine time).
Meanwhile, the Washington Wizards will try to bounce back, as they host the Miami Heat on the same night.
