
Paras wins WBA Asia South flyweight champ

VINCE Paras of General Santos City beat Robert Paradero of Bukidnon to win the World Boxing Association Asia South flyweight championship last October 9 in Paranaque City.
The 23-year-old Paras twice knocked down Paradero in the 3rd round. Paradero tried to fight back at Paras after he was knocked down for the second time.
He also cut Paradero’s right eye in the first round. Paras got the scores, 117-109, 116-110 and 115-111.
Paras, who is mentored by Ronerex Dalut, now has 18 wins, two loses, one draw with 15 knockouts while Paradero suffered his third setback against 18 wins and one draw.
They settled for a draw in their first fight last April 26 held in Gensan.
