UNIVERSITY of Mindanao Tagum City head coach Bethoveen “Thoben” Rubinos said that the ALDU Cup of the Davao del Norte Basketball League (DDNBL) opens opportunities to all players.

“ALDU Cup opens opportunity not only to our team but especially to all players who want to showcase their skills in basketball,” said 32-year-old Rubinos.

The Inter-Collegiate Division of the ALDU Cup will start on October 8 at 5:30 p.m.at the Carmen Gym in Carmen, Davao del Norte.

UM Tagum is in Bracket B together with MATS Navigators, Davao Merchant Marine Academy, Brokenshire College and Saint John Paul II College.

Bracket A are Jose Maria College, PWC, Davao del Norte State College, UM Davao and UM Samal.

“For me, all teams are strong. Everyone is preparing for this league and the players are just trying out at school, so it is expected that every game is competitive,” said Rubinos.

They are small guard John Rexell Candongo, 5'11; power forward Ian Darrell Escobal, 6'0; and center Deeter Jan Comonsad, 6'0.
