DAREDEVIL Raul Tabil topped the Elite category of the first Gov. Victor J. Yu Mountain Bike Enduro Race held last September 11 in Pagadian City.

Tabil had a total time of seven minutes and 53.32 seconds to win the Elite category. He was awarded P15,000 cash by Zamboanga del Sur Gov. Victor J. Yu.

Second placer was Alden Comeros at 8:04.68 while at third was Michael Cosep at 8:06.09. Comeros earned P10,000 while Cosep got P7,000.

Meanwhile, Arden Lanaza clocked 10:05.65 to bag the Executive category and won the P5,000.

Harvey Bryan Malnegro, who got a 45 seconds deduction for using a downhill bike instead of an enduro bike, still managed to finish second at 10:24.24.

Malnegro, a Jail Officer 3, was earlier announced as the champion but he did not accept it. He instead settled for second place.

“I approached the table to check again since it is really impossible for me to surpass the 45 seconds handicap,” said Malnegro.

Third was Elias Eleptico Jr. at 10:39.71.

“It was enough for me, the ride itself is the prize and being greeted by bikers along the way on their 1200cc machines was even better,” added Malnegro.

Meanwhile, Gay Bongocan won the Ladies Open with a time of 12:27.45.

She was followed in second by Cherelyn Meltanne (13:48.62) while in third was Rowena Cagais (28:06.60).
