CEBU CITY--Former WBC flyweight king Malcolm Tunacao, training at the famed ALA Gym, is now looking sharp in preparation for his May 31 return to the ring against Tanzanian Rashid Ally at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel.

The bout is part of the "One More Time" card put up by the ALA Promotions in cooperation with a major television outfit.

The main event features Z "The Dream" Gorres against Nick Otieno of Kenya.

"Malcolm knocked down the bigger Romeo Jakosalem during sparring recently," said sportsman Antonio L. Aldeguer.

Tunacao had captured the WBC flyweight title in 2000 with a seventh-round TKO over Manny Pacquiao conqueror Medgoen Singsurat in a bout held in Udon Thani, Thailand.

"I'm thankful to Sir ALA for giving me this chance to fight in his card. He is very good to me in good times and in bad," said Tunacao.

The southpaw Tunacao had recently suffered a career-threatening injury on his wrist, but miraculously came out of it and able to fight one more day.

Still young and capable, Tunacao is arguably one of the most talented fighters to come out of the ALA Gym.
