KEVIN “The Bull” Aseniero of Cagayan de Oro will challenge Thattana Luangphon of Thailand for the WBC Asian Boxing Council super bantamweight title on August 27 at the Suamlun Night Bazaar in Ratchadaphisek, Bangkok.

Aseniero recently had a six-rounder with Sarangani’s Jayar Diama, who was beaten by a unanimous decision last April 27, 2022 in Rizal.

The 28-year-old Aseniero did not have any fight in 2020 to 2021 because of a pandemic.

His last fight before a pandemic was challenging Vincent Astrolabio for the WBO Oriental bantamweight title last August 27, 2019 in Manila.

Aseniero was declared unfit to continue after a cut caused by a punch of Astrolabio for a technical knockout in the 5th round.

He has a total of 10 wins, three loses, one draw with five knockouts.

Luangphon, on the other hand, is making his 6th title defense.

He had twice defended it this year. He first knocked out Jelbert Gomera of Polomolok in the 2nd round last March 26 in Bangkok

He last defended it successfully against Ken Jordan of General Santos City by a unanimous decision last May 28 in Bangkok.

Luangphon is still undefeated with 17 wins, one draw and 13 knockouts.
