
Baquiran, Langahin win in DUKC

VON Yobhel Baquiran and Jay Clyde Langahin won in contrasting styles in the supporting match of the first Davao Ultimate Knockout Challenge (DUKC) held last August 14 at the Elorde Davao Gym in Matina.
Baquiran of Elorde Davao won by a split decision over Maverick Dave Cantillo of Blackhawk-Davao (65 kilos), while Langahin of Blackhawk stopped Alton Nathaniel Vadil of Elorde Davao in the 3rd round (60 kilos).
Meanwhile, Francia Mark Layos of Strive Fitness-Davao stopped Alfie Micole Toh of Blackhawk in the 3rd round (75 kilos) while Khem Mark Bucan of MP Gym-Toril beat Vince Dominguiano of ED by split decision (60 kilos).
The other results:
Janziel Maisip of ED stopped Jose Babael of ED in the 2nd round (53 kilos);
D Fernandez of Fitness Boss-Digos stopped Judah Wesley Cruz of ED in the 3rd round (55 kilos);
Ken Spanskie of Limitless-Davao beat Al Joseph Cahulogan of BH by a unanimous decision (55 kilos);
McKhurt Ian Lloren of BH (50 kilos) beat Karl Sea Teves of ED by a split decision;
Bernard Causing of Calalas Gym-Compostela stopped Kyle Pascual of ED in the 3rd round vs. (77 kilos);
Karl Reyes of ED stopped John Winston Concoles of ED in the 1st round vs. (53 kilos);
John Reyes of ED knocked out Rolando del Fierro of ED in the 1st round vs. (70 kilos);
Seth Santiago of ED stopped Yuji Asano of ED due to injury (84 kilos);
John Gabotero of ED defeated Jay-ar Calibay of Fitness Boss-Digos (68 kilos) by split decision.
DUKC was organized by gym owner Alfie Angelo Jonsay as part of the Kadayawan Festival activity with the Davao City government.
“We thank everyone for coming here and hopefully we’ll have our next DUKC in October,” said Jonsay.
Jonsay’s wife and co-owner Karen Sanita awarded the medals and certificates.
The tournament management is headed by Coach Rodel Garde.
