PHILIPPINE super featherweight champion Carlo “The Ferocious” Magali of Bohol is going to South Africa to fight against Ayanda Nkosi of South Africa on August 21, Sunday.

Magali, who is turning 36 this coming September, is coming together with trainer Jaypee Alipio and assistant Jomar Fajardo.

“We already stayed at the hotel near the airport after we were not able to fly because of the delay,” said Magali.

They arrived from Baguio City two days ago where Magali had a sparring session with Mark John Yap (30-17-0, 15KOs), MJ Uduna (4-1-2) and Reymond Yanong (11-7-1, 9KOs).

“I think it's enough to try hard to win because it's an opportunity. I hope I can do it,” said Magali, who is also the reigning Asian Boxing Federation super featherweight champion.

Magali had his last fight on December 21, 2019 where he fought Al Toyogon and won a split decision for the vacant ABF and Philippine super featherweight titles at Manila Arena in Manila.

Nkosi, on the other hand, has 14 wins, one loss and eight knockouts.

In his last fight, Nkosi retired Emanuel Lopez of Mexico in the 7th round for the victory of the World Boxing Federation World lightweight title last September 28, 2019 in Johannesburg.
