Ligas, Victoriano, Diagan suffer losses

BIENVENIDO “Sniper Ben Fairtex” Ligas of Caloocan City, Jules "Victorious" Victoriano of Iloilo City and Garen “Hellboy” Diagan of General Santos City suffered losses in separate venues last Saturday.

The 24-year-old Ligas lost in his bid for the WBO Oriental flyweight title to Olimjon Nazarov of Uzbekistan by a unanimous decision at The Grand Ho Tram Strip in Vung Tau, Vietnam. Ligas was also down in the 9th round.

It was Ligas’ third loss against 14 wins and second draw while the 36-year-old Nazarov posted his fourth successful defense with 28 wins, 15 knockouts with five loses.

Victoriano, on the other hand, suffered a unanimous decision to Hong Quan Dinh for the IBF Asia Lightweight title also at The Grand Ho Tram Strip.

Victoriano took his fifth loss against 11 wins while Hong improved his record to nine wins, one loss, one draw with four knockouts.

Meanwhile, Diagan failed against Dabai Ngiabphukhiaw of Thailand by a unanimous decision for the WBC Asian Boxing Council light flyweight title last July 30 at the Suanlum Night Bazaar in Bangkok.
