ORTHODOX Lito “Naruto” Dante of Bohol will fight Clyde Azarcon of Davao City for the vacant World Boxing Foundation International minimumweight title on August 7 at the Elorde Sports Complex in Paranaque City.

“Yes I’m ready now,” said the 32-year-old Dante.

Dante had recently stopped Ryan Ralozo of Cagayan de Oro City via a 2nd round technical knockout last April 30, 2022 in Dangcagan.

Dante now has 18 wins with 10 knockouts against 11 loses and four draws. He is right now 109 pounds.

Dante has been practicing at the Philippine Navy Gym in Taguig with light flyweight Jonathan Almacen (7-5-3, 2KOs) as his sparring partner.

He just separated from the training of former IBF world super flyweight champion Jerwin “Pretty” Ancajas, who is at the Survival training camp in Cavite.

“I’m so excited because I’ll be climbing the ring again and it’s a championship fight,” said Dante.

Azarcon (17-4-1, 6KOs), on the other hand, suffered a 1st round TKO to John Paul Gabunilas last March 19, 2022 at Alta Vista Golf and Country Club in Cebu City.

Azarcon earlier won the WBF Intercontinental minimumweight title by beating Mike Kinaadman of Iligan City via a majority decision last March 9, 2020 at Robinson’s Galleria in Cebu City.

But Azarcon did not saw action for almost two years and so the belt was vacated.
