SUPER flyweight Prince Andrew “The Prince” Laurio will fight at his own home town in Masbate City on June 18 against Mark Jequinto of Diplahan, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Laurio recently won by a technical knockout over Ranelio Quizo of Las Pinas City in the 5th round last February 13, 2021 at the Mega Mart Burgos Poblacion in Norte, Paniqui.

Laurio, who has Coach Tacy Macalos, former International Boxing Federation world champion, has sparred with Mark Alicaba and Marbilo Aballe

“I hope that the two of us can show a beautiful fight in the ring,” said Laurio.

The 5-foot-7 Laurio has 11 wins, three loses and one draw with eight knockouts. They will fight for 115 pounds.

“I’m so happy and proud that the fight will be held here, that’s why I had prepared well to show as a Masbatenio,” said Laurio.

Jequinto, on the other hand, recently lost to Angilou Dalogdog by a unanimous decision last March 7, 2022 in Dauis.

The 27-year-old Jequinto has four wins, nine loses and one draw.

The Laurio-Jequinto 6-rounder bout is the supporting event of the vacant Philippine GAB Youth super featherweight championship between Criztian Pitt “Golden Boy” Laurente of General Santos City and Richard Bulacan of Davao City.

The official weigh-in will be on June 17 at 10 a.m. at the Mobo municipal hall.

It is sanctioned by the Games and Amusements Board and sponsored by Mayor Raymund “Doni” Salvacion and Governor Antonio “Tony” Kho.

It is also sponsored by Bingo Plus and powered by promoter Gerry “Fearless” Penalosa of Gerrypens Boxing Promotion, Kumbat Sports Kalayaan, Makati Viajero and MaruNeo.
