PABLITO Canada of Pagadian City was disqualified because of too much head butting against Ian Sampan of Davao del Norte in their 8-round bout last June 7 in Polomolok.
The 27-year-old Canada also got two points deduction for fouls before he finally was slapped with a disqualification because of headbutting on Sampan.
"How many times did he intentionally head butt Sampan," said promoter Jim Claude Manangquil of Sanman Promotions.
It was Canada’s 21st loss against seven wins and five draws, while Sampan remained undefeated with six wins with five knockouts.
In the previous fight, Canada committed a headbutt against Richard Pumicmic of Zamboanga last March 12, 2022 at Elorde Sports Complex in Paranaque City.
It was declared a draw after the fight was stopped due to a cut on Pumicmic’s left eyebrow caused by an accidental headbutt in Round 2.
Headbutting is not new to Canada’s style of fighting. He first committed an accidental headbutt against Danilo Pena of Paranaque City last February 15, 2015 for a technical draw in Angono.
The fight was stopped due to a cut on Pena’s nose caused by an accidental headbutt.
Canada then settled another technical draw with Jose Roda Jr. of Malabon after the fight was stopped due to a cut on Roda caused by an accidental headbutt last November 13, 2018 in Mamburao.
Meanwhile, Guillaume Lorenzo of France stopped Jose Ocampo in the 5th round in the main event.
