
Sevillon tops Elite in Samal race

SEVENTEEN-YEAR-OLD Simon Sevillon of Trailheadsph from Davao City topped the Elite category of the first Summer Saya sa Isla Mountain Bike Enduro Challenge last May 28 in Samal Island.
Sevillon joined the Elite category for the third time. He clocked 5:06:59 in the first stage then checked in at 5:09:53 in stage 2 for a total of 10 minutes and 16:52 seconds.
“I was happy because I didn’t expect to win that race on a hardtail bike,” said Sevillon.
Second was Mitchel Beatriz of Tacurong at 10:38:58 followed by Christian Dalaygon of Samal at 10:42:42.
Meanwhile, Vay Alindao and sister Yannie made it a 1-2 finish in the Ladies Open category.
Vay checked in at 14:46 while Yannie clocked at 15:14. Third was Precious Alexa Dellona at 19:53.
All three of them are from Davao City.
Alindaos’ father Boyong also won the first place in the 50 above category. Second was Armand Pelayo followed by Jojo Anito.

20-29 – 1st – Jade Rocacorba, 2nd – Charls Miras, 3rd – Soy Gler
30-39 – 1st – Emmanuel Dalaygon, 2nd – Eugene Dolores, 3rd – Carl Fernandez
40-49 – 1st – Kawhi Emperador, 2nd – Virgo Aragones, 3rd – Adrian Toldo
