OPBF lightweight champ Randy "Komong Bato" Suico takes a breather with a non-title bout against Thailand's Sornkom Jockeygym tonight in Lapu-Lapu City headlining the "Kadaugan sa Mactan" card put up by superstar Manny Pacquiao and promoter Rex 'Wakee' Salud.

Pacquiao, who will be joined by WBO champ Gerry Penalosa, ex-Governor Chavit Singson and businessman Hermie Esguera at ringside, is also set to play the role of chieftain Lapu-Lapu on Sunday during the re-enactment of his battle against Ferdinand Magellan.

The boxing icon is putting up the event as part of his program to help Filipino boxers attain world-class status, said promoter Rex 'Wakee" Salud.

The co-feature, a 12-round showdown for the RP superfly title, pits defending champion Eden Sonsona against the very capable Richard Olisa of the Aljoe Jaro Stable.

"Bakbakan talaga ito. Ensayado ang bata ko, hindi kami patatalo sa ensayo. Alam ko ensayado din si Sonsona. May the best man win," said Jaro, whose other ward Bernabe Concepcion is fighting Torrence Daniels on April 26 in Queretaro, Mexico.

Ex-PABA light-flyweight champ Marvin Tampos will also see action in a 10-round non-title showdown with Bohol's Allan Ranada. Tampos is aching for a showdown with RP bantam champ Michael Domingo.

"We have lined up an exciting card. We originally wanted to get some big names for the show, but due to other commitments, the other boxers we wanted were not available," Manny Pacquiao told this writer in a recent cruise off Mactan waters.

Salud, a close associate of the Pacman, says that the slambang card is put up in cooperation with Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Arturo Radaza, who was reportedly smitten by the idea of Pacquiao playing the role of Lapu-Lapu for the re-enactment of his conquest of Magellan.

The rest of the card will pit Darrel Pucdol versus Dante Cantiga; John Reil Casimiro versus Marvin Sonsona; Daniel Ponce Villacura against Esrael Sapo; Rodulfo Sumabong versus Tata Recablanca; Jayson Siaton versus John Mark Ranan; Ali Cali against TBA; and Emelio Ervas versus Tata Tadena.
