Quiñonero.
DENNIS “The Cannon” Quiñonero of Cenonas Mixed Martial Art Davao City will now have a new opponent in the main event of the “Resbak 2” professional MMA set on May 28 in Davao City.

Quiñonero is now facing Arvin “The Kicker” Gumban of Jeet Kunni Do in Taytay, Rizal.

“The venue will be announced soon. We are still negotiating it with Rizal Park,” said promoter Almar Kelly Odiong of Redpalm Events and Promotions.

Quiñonero, 38 years old, has yet to turn pro. He has an amateur record of 17 wins, five loses and one draw.

The 27-year-old Gumban has a pro record of two wins and four loses.

Quiñonero is always ready to fight because he’s also a security guard in Davao City.

Quiñonero, who is connected with the Axzeen Security Agency, is posted at the Department of Agriculture in Bangoy Street.

“Yes, I have a new opponent but it’s OK. I’m always ready to fight,” said Quiñonero.

He is always watching his weight and food in-take.

“I just always focus on training, mastery in grappling and striking,” said Quiñonero.

Quiñonero had two fights postponed already. First, he was set to face Serg “Nightmare” Jayson of Tagum in Resbak 1. But Jayson did not show up in the fight.

Quiñonero was again scheduled for Resbak 2. He was set to face a rematch with Marlon “MacFist” Cruzpero of Team Alterado Extreme Combat.

But the fight was postponed and Cruzpero was no longer available.

This time, Quiñonero will take on Gumban in “Resbak 2”.

“He has more experience as a pro fighter. But it’s a challenge for me for my pro debut,” said Quinonero.

Quiñonero said that two things will only happen.

“Win or lose, but I have the advantage because it’s my hometown,” said Quinonero.
