THE fighting Abe brothers – April Jay, Augusto and Ian – from Manticao, Misamis Oriental will all see action on May 21 at the Bonifacio Bacaltos Sport and Cultural Center in Sibonga, Cebu.

The Abnes had six fights together under the ARQ Boxing Stable.

April Jay nicknamed “Astroboy”, who is the eldest, will fight Arnold “Destroyer” Garde (10-12-3, 4KOs) of Davao City in the flyweight division.

The 23-year-old Abne, who has eight wins, one loss and four knockouts, knocked out Garen Diagan in the 5th round last March 19, 2022 at Alta Vista Golf and Country Club in Cebu City.

“I'm very grateful to our manager because if not for him, we won’t reach this fight condition,” said April Jay.

The undefeated Ian Abne, who has five straight wins, will take on Ronald Ewican (5-3-0, 2KOs) in the minimumweight division.

Ian, 21, recently retired Royder Lloyd Borbon of Cotabato City in the 2nd round last March 19 in Cebu.

Augusto (2-1-0, 1KO), on the other hand, will take Briel Ozaraga (2-3-1, 1KO) for the super flyweight division.

The 19-year-old Augusto recently settled a majority draw with Andery Palmin last March 20, 2022 at Marban Boxing Gym in Lagonglong.

The Abnes also recognizes the support of the coaches Eldo (head), Edgar and Joseph Cortes, and conditioning coach Roger Putot.

Jason and Eva Marie Arquisola are the promoters.
