
Pabustan beats Tamayo by split decision

SUPER bantamweight Jetro “Silent Operator” Pabustan of Malapatan, Sarangani scored better in the last round against Bryan “Bry101” Tamayo of Samar to win by a split decision last night, May 14, at the Flash Grand Ballroom of the Elorde Sports Complex in Paranaque City.
The 32-year-old Pabustan got his second wind in the 8th and last round to beat Tamayo with unanswered punches.
Pabustan now has 31 wins, nine loses, six draws and nine knockouts while 24-year-old Tamayo suffered his third loss against seven wins, two draws and two knockouts.
Tamayo’s elder brother Gary, however, scored a 6th round technical knockout against Danny Tampipi of Pagadian City.
Meanwhile, bantamweight Aljum Pelesio of El Salvador, Misamis Oriental stopped Bonjun Loperez of Davao City in the 1st round of the main event.
Cucuy Elorde of UKC Pro Boxing Edition promoted the boxing event.
