FORMER NABF champion Aston “Mighty” Palicte of Bago City, Negros Occidental will go to Australia to fight Jason “Mayhem” Moloney for both the World Boxing Council Silver bantamweight title and the vacant World Boxing Organization International bantamweight title on June 5 at the Marvel Stadium in Docklands, Melbourne.

“I have been given another big fight and a good opponent, I'm so excited,” said the 31-year-old Palicte.

“I'll do everything to win the fight,” said Palicte, who has 28 wins, 4 loses, 1 draw and 23 knockouts.

Palicte is presently training at the MP Davao Gym in Davao City under trainer Raides “Nonoy” Neri.

His manager Jason Soong and cutman Benedicto Alemis will join them later when they fly to Australia either on May 30 or 31.

“Yes, I'm ready now. Mighty is back,” said Palicte.

Palicte, who is currently 126 pounds, is sparring with Vincent “Asero” Astrolabio (17-3-0, 12KOs) of General Santos City.

Palicte is happy because he is part of the historic fight between George Kambosos Jr. (20-0) and Devin Haney (27-0) for the WBA Super world lightweight title fight.

“It's ok, even if it's their place, I don't have a problem and I'm used to that,” said Palicte.

Palicte recently scored a unanimous decision over Roland Jay Biendima last October 29, 2021 at Sanman Gym in Gensan.

Moloney (23-2-0, 18KOs), on the other hand, settled a unanimous decision to Francisco Pedroza Portillo of Mexico last April 9, 2022 at The Hangar in Costa Mesa.

The boxing event is promoted by Lou DiBella of DiBella Entertainment.
