UNDEFEATED Asian Boxing Federation (ABF) light flyweight champion John Michael “Striker” Zulueta of Calatrava, Negros Occidental arrived in Bangkok today, May 12 to fight Indonesian Jack Amisa on May 14 at the RCA Plaza, 3rd floor in Spaceplus, Thailand.

“My opponent is a veteran and you can't give me confidence in my comeback fight,” said the 26-year-old Zulueta.

Zulueta, who is managed by former Games and Amusements Board (GAB) Chairman Juan Ramon Monjo Guanzon, arrived from Bacolod City with trainer Nelson Arellano.

Zulueta, who trained at Baba Boxing Gym, is presently 112 pounds, just four pounds over the fighting weight.

He sparred with undefeated Rodel Sioco (4-0, 2KOs) and Ricky delos Santos (2-1-0) in Bacolod.

“I'll do my best in the game,” said Zulueta, who has 11 wins, two draws and four knockouts.

In his last fight, Zulueta retired Mark Anthony Florida of Bukidnonn in the 4th round to win both the vacant ABF light flyweight title and vacant International Boxing Federation Asia light flyweight title last September 7, 2019 at the Taguig City.

Zulueta earlier beat undefeated Aristom Aton of Cebu by unanimous decision to win the vacant IBO Oceania-Orient light flyweight title last March 30, 2019 at Gaisano City Mall in Bacolod.

Amisa (21-49-3, 14KOs), on the other hand, lost to Japanese Toshihiko Era by a TKO in the 4th round last October 23, 2021 in Dubai.

The “No Mercy” boxing event is promoted by Highland Boxing and Spaceplus Boxing Promotions.
