Andres tops women’s open in Jahrides Elgrabi MTB

PRETTY Hazel Joy Andres of Tacurong City ruled the Jahrides El-Grabi 2K22 Mountain Bike Enduro Clubrace Fun Challenge held April 8 at the Aparador Trail in Barangay Morales, Koronadal City.

The 19-year-old Andres topped the Women’s Open category with her total time of four minutes and 39.79 seconds.

She first submitted a time of 2:39.25 in Stage 1 which was second only to Julla Serquina of Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat with 2:35.94.

But Andres was faster in Stage 2 with a time of 2:00.54 while Serquina's only time was 2:07.65.

Third was Joveliza David at 4:58.41 followed by Sharoll Gadayan of Tantangan, South Cotabato with 5:08.69.

The 5th to 10th place were Isat Apura (5:09.28), Jerly Miravalles (5:10.46), Joy Ann Padernilla (5:22.41), Carol Serquina (5:39.84), Ana Choi (5:57.69) and Myra Causing (6:16.60).

“It's good, a lot of jumps in case it's just a short track,” said Andres, who is now taking up Psychology.
