ORTHODOX Esneth “Hard Hitter” Domingo of Lebak, Sultan Kudarat will go to South Africa to fight World Boxing Organization (WBO) Global light flyweight champion Nhlanhla Tyirha in East London on May 28.
The 23-year-old Domingo is now training in Mandaue City at the Villamor Boxing Gym.
“I need to try my best because first it’s their promotion. Second, I will be in their place so we will do everything, we will win this game,” said Domingo.
Domingo is confident that he can win against Tyirha.
He is currently 120 pounds, just 12 pounds over the limit.
“I look at this game very much because our training was intense with my uncle Michael Domingo, former WBO Regional Champion,” said Domingo.
He is also very happy that his managers Mhavick Matsuura and Nabuyuki Matsuura of ZIP from Japan paid him a visit last week.
Domingo is also based in General Santos City under the Sanman Boxing Promotions.
He recently defeated Jesse Espinas by a unanimous decision last February 26, 2022 at Sanman Gym in Gensan.
Tyirha, on the other hand, won the vacant WBO Global light flyweight title by a unanimous decision over Jaysever Abcede of Bukidnon last October 1, 2021 in East London.
The 22-year-old Tyirha has six wins, one loss and two knockouts while Domingo has 16 wins, one loss and eight knockouts.
It is presented by Xaba Boxing Academy in partnership with Zbasy Promotions.
