THIRTY-EIGHT-year-old Dennis “Cannon” Quiñonero of the Cenojas MMA will finally see action in the professional mixed martial arts dubbed as the “Resbak 2” series at the Matina Town Square in Davao City.

The 5-foot-5 Quinonero will now fight against Marlon “MacFist” Cruzpero of Team Alterado Extreme Combat. It will be a rematch between the two strikers.

“I’m so exitéd and well prepared for this awaited rematch,” said Quinonero, who did not see action in Resbak 1 after his opponent Serg “Nightmare” Jayson of Tagum back out last March 31 in Panabo City.

Cruzpero won by a split decision in their first match. It was a blow by blow fight with the changing of strikes from start to finish.

Quinonero said that it was due to lack of experience since it was a debut fight for him in the àmateur mma. But now it will be different since Quinonero had experience already.

“I will do my best and chances are I will do the rest. I will bring him down in thé ground and play with him to my advantage,” said Quinonero, who works as a security guard.

Quinonero has 17 wins, five loses and one draw, while Cruzpero had nine wins and two loses as an amateur.

Meanwhile, team manager James Louie Larroza of Observe MMA Fight Club from Tagum City said that Quinonero and Cruzpero are both very good strikers.

“The exchange of strikes from round 1 to 3 was intense. It was worth it to match up,” said Larrosa.

“I've been waiting for their rematch,” he said.

It is presented by RedPalm Events and Promotions under Almar Kelly Odiong and sanctioned by the Games and Amusements Board.
