FLYWEIGHT Nards "Poison" Tancontian of R2K MMA will battle Jay “El Calibre” Verdadero of Aguila Academy in the professional mixed martial arts dubbed as the “Resbak” series on March 31 at the Arf Gym in New Pandan, Panabo City.

It will be the debut of Tancontian, who has an amateur record of 11 wins and seven loses.

Tancontian had his last fight in 2019 while he was playing in Davao City.

“I'm okay now, very much ready,” said Tancontian.

The 24-year-old Tancontian will now represent the Island City of Samal.

“I only work here in Samal. But I also work here in the martial arts gym,” said Tancontian.

His companion is the 38-year-old Dennis "Cannon" Quiñonero, who will also take on Serg "Nightmare" Jayson of Tagum for the flyweight division.

Tancontian has been under Coach Jenery Quiñonero for three years now.

“For me, that's easy. He already has experience,” said Tancontian.

It is presented by RedPalm Events and Promotions under Almar Kelly Odiong and sanctioned by the Games and Amusements Board.

This is in celebration of the Araw ng Panabo. It is sponsored by City Star Shopping Center Inc., Innovaplas Packaging Corporation, Colmax, G-key Trading, Sanman, Beefit Gym and RedPalm Events and Promotions.
