
Marvin Sonsona makes a comeback, beats Sultan by UD

SOUTHPAW Marvin “Marvelous” Sonsona of General Santos City successfully made a comeback last Sunday, March 20 in Misamis Oriental.
The 31-year-old Sonsona beat Boyce “Astro Boy” Sultan of Labason, Zamboanga del Norte by a unanimous decision.
Sonsona now has 22 wins with 15 knockouts against one loss and one draw while the 28-year-old Sultan suffered his 14th defeat with 10 wins and one draw.
It was one of the supporting bouts of the 10-rounder bout between Marco John Rementizo and Jerry Tomogdan which ended in a 2nd round knockout win by Rementizo.
Sonsona last fought against Arief “The Ice” Blader of Indonesia on May 13, 2018 in Quezon City which he won by unanimous decision. In that fight, Sonsona was six pounds over the contracted catch weight of 141 pounds and was forced to wear 12 oz gloves.
Meanwhile, flyweight Roslan Eco remained undefeated by scoring against Jason Mopon on points. The 20-year-old Eco now has seven wins with four knockouts.
