FLYWEIGHT Esneth “Hard Hitter” Domingo of Lebak, Sultan Kudarat used his constant jabs and punches to beat Jesse “Little Giant” Espinas of Oroquieta City by a unanimous decision last February 26 at the Sanman Gym in General Santos City.
Domingo, however, fought despite having an injured right arm.
“My right arm is sore so I can't throw straight and punch him. I'm just continuing the promotion,” said the 23-year-old Domingo.
The long-haired Espinas tried to mix it up but Domingo was too clever. Domingo also had sharp punches to keep Espinas at bay.
Domingo now has 16 wins with eight knockouts against one defeat while Espinas suffered his 5th loss against 20 wins.
Meanwhile, reigning Orient and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) minimumweight champion Melvin Jerusalem of Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon scored a unanimous decision against Ramil Antaran of Malungon in the undercard.
The 28-year-old Jerusalem showed Antaran too much class in his punches. Jerusalem now has 18 wins with 10 knockouts against two losses.
In the other bouts, Jhunrick Carcedo retired Ryan Sermona in the 2nd round; KJ Cataraja stopped Runshane Sarquilla in the 3rd round; Michael Casama retired 41-year-old Jaime Barcelona in the 4th round; Kenny Demecillo retired Eric Pulgo in the 5th round; Alex Santisima beat Nathaniel Juan by a unanimous decision.
The boxing event dubbed as "Sanman Bubble VIII" was promoted by Sanman Promotions headed by its president Jean Claude "JC" Manangquil.
