CRIZTIAN Pitt “The Golden Boy” Laurente of General Santos City remained undefeated after beating super featherweight Vicente Casido of Dumaguete by a knockout in the 2nd round last February 26 at the Sanman Gym in General Santos City.
Laurente started hitting Casido with hard punches in the first round.
In the second round, Laurente continued pummeling with his unanswered strong punches to down Casido at 2:21.
The 22-year-old Laurente now has nine wins with six knockouts.
Laurente and his father Titing immediately reported their victory to their promoter Gerry Penalosa of Gerrypens Promotions Inc.
“Impressive fight ni Pitt. Improve siya, experience lang ang kulang,” said Penalosa in a Facebook.
The Laurente-Casido fight was supposed to be held last February 5 in Bogo, Cebu as the main event. But the medical doctor Dr. Jose Unabia of the Games and Amusement Board in Cebu denied Laurente a fight on the day of the bout.
Laurente was about ready to climb the ring when he was told by the doctor that he can’t fight. He again got the negative result of his medical last February 9.
GAB Cebu is under OIC Jimmy Donton.
