DAVAO CITY – KJ “The Ipugo” Natuplag of Ifugao stopped Argel “El Babillo” Berrio of Colombia in the 4th canto of their 8-round fight set on Sept. 12 at the La Perle in Al Habtoor, Dubai.
The 24-year-old Natuplag used a right uppercut to knock down the flashy Berrio in the 3rd round.
Natuplag then connected an upper cross in 4th round to again down Berrio, which the referee had finally stopped.
“Masaya ako sobra (I am very happy),” said Natuplag on Facebook.
Natuplag was also hit on the body and jaw by Berrio. But Natuplag earlier predicted that he would knock out Berrio, which he did.
He now has nine wins with eight knockouts against three loses and two draws.
"Malakas ang kalaban ko (My opponent is strong)," said Natuplag.
Berrio, on the other hand, suffered his first loss after scoring three straight wins this year.
He now has nine loses against 18 wins with 11 knockouts.
Roshan Nathanial of Team Roshan Sports Promotion and Dunstan Rozairo of DJMC Events are the promoters.
