Suarez KOs Rosas in 4th round

DAVAO CITY – Charly “King's Warrior” Suarez remained undefeated by knocking out Lorence Rosas in the 4th round last Sept. 4 at the Urdaneta Cultural Sports Complex in Urdaneta City, Pangasinan.

The 33-year-old Suarez first downed Rosas hitting him in the stomach in round 1. Suarez again continued to release his powerful left-right punches in the 2nd round but was called an illegal punch.

Rosas had to rest for five minutes due to a low blow. In the 3rd round, Suarez continued to hit Rosas with his left-right jabs.
Suarez then hit a power body shot to finally put Rosas down for good at 1:30 in the 4th round.

It was the 8th straight win and the 6th knockout victory by Suarez of San Isidro, Davao del Norte while Rosas of Puerto Princesa suffered his sixth loss against nine wins and two draws.

Meanwhile, Gary “The Hawk” Tamayo of Samar scored a split decision against Lorenz “Cerberus” Ladrada of Cagayan de Oro in the undercard.

Judges Mohammad Aquil Tamano and Jerrold Tomeldan both saw the fight at 57-55 for Tamayo while Elmer Costillas scored it 57-55 for Ladrada.

Southpaw Roy Sumugat of Bacolod knocked out Glenn Bismanos of Negros Occidental in the last 6th round while lightweight John Lawrence Ordonio of La Union came back from a Round 3 knockdown to stop Jules Victoriano of Iloilo by a TKO in the 4th round.

Other results: Arnel Baconaie scored a unanimous decision over Danny Tampipi; Jon Jon Estrada knockout Pablito Canada in the 2nd round; Remistomom Basas beat Marklin Itim by a UD; Ali Cahega scored a UD over Richard Morales; Kenneth Llaver TKO’s Jover Amistoso in the 4th round; Jonniel Laurente scored a UD over Fernando Tagpuno Jr.

The boxing promoters were Cucuy Elorde and Robert Hill.
