DAVAO CITY (July 16) – Melvin "Gringo" Jerusalem outscored with more punches over Toto "Muscovado" Landero to win the vacant Orient and Pacific Boxing Federation minimumweight title last Friday at the Tabunoc Sports Complex in Talisay City.
The 27-year-old Jerusalem hit Landero with a solid right in the second round. Then it was followed by two punches at the end of the round.
Landero of Negros Occidental tried to hit back Jerusalem but the fighter from Bukidnon was too clever.
Jerusalem repeated the same unanimous decision to Landero last Nov. 10, 2018 held in Minglanilla.
Jerusalem improved to 17 wins against two defeats while Landero, 25, suffered his 6th defeat against 11 wins with two draws.
It was the main event of the bubble boxing event promoted by Jim Claude Manangquil of Sanman Promotion and ZIP Boxing.
