DAVAO CITY –Super bantamweight Jhunriel “Prinsipe Abante” Ramonal and lightweight Jino “The Silent Beast” Rodrigo will carry the Olivette Boxing Team of Binan City in the “Relentless: Fists of Fire” set on July 3 at the Urdaneta Cultural Sports Complex in Urdaneta City.

Ramonal and Rodrigo are accompanied by manager-trainer Coach Dino Olivette.

Ramonal (17W-8L-6D, 10KOs) of Binan will face Landy Cris Leon (13W-22L-5D, 6KOs) of Fight Factory Maginhawa while Rodrigo (5W-2L-2D, 4KOs) of Antipolo City will fight against Roberto “Real Steel” Gonzales (28W-6L-1D, 17KOs) of Batangas.

Both Ramonal and Rodrigo had no fights in 2020 due to pandemic. Ramonal, however, was a little busy in 2019 with four bouts including three wins. He first had a technical draw with Ernesto Saulong in the 3rd round last Feb. 13 in Baras.

Ramonal then stopped Danny Tampipi in the 7th round last May 22 in Binan.

He went to Japan to fight Shingo Wake and scored a TKO in the 3rd round last Oct. 11 at the Korakuen Hall.

Ramonal came back to Japan to stop Yusaku Kuga in the 1st round for the vacant WBO Asia Pacific super bantamweight title last Dec. 31 in Ota City.

“Marami ho gusto siyang labanan doon. Kikita na sana (A lot of them wants to fight him there. He will earn lot for that),” said Olivette.

But there are still restrictions regarding the sending of boxers to Japan.

Ramonal is now ready to fight after more than one year.

“Sayang talaga ngayon nga lang ho ulit naka laban mahigit isat kalahating taon (It's a pity that it's only now that I've been fighting again for more than half a year),” said Ramonal.

He did not leave the Olivette Boxing Gym during the pandemic and continued his training.

“Masipag talaga siya di niya binakante sarili niya, talagang regular ang training. Di ko lang siya masyado pinag iispar, pero yung routine niya nandoon pa din (He was really hardworking, he didn't veered away from training, the training was really regular. I did not had him spar too much, but his routine was still there),” said Olivette.

“Di mo siya nakitang lumaki kasi talagang regular ang insayo namin kahit pandemic kasi sa gym naman siya nakatira ang nasa isip namin any time kung mag ka biglaan man (You didn't see him bloat because we trained regularly even though it was a pandemic because he stayed in the gym and in our minds at any time there could be a fight),” added Olivette.

Rodrigo, on the other hand, suffered a unanimous decision loss to Marlon Paniamogan last Sept. 21, 2019 in Paranaque City.
Earlier, Rodrigo settled a technical draw with Daffy Dempo last May 22 in Binan. The fight was stopped due to a cut near Dempo’s right eye caused by an accidental head butt in Round 2.
Rodrigo promised to be back to the winning track.
