In the co-main event of the Inoue-Dasmariñas IBF-WBA bantamweight unified world championship at the Virgins Hotel in Las Vegas Saturday night, Mikaela Mayer bested Erica Faria to retain her WBO Junior lightweight title.

Using her long reach and smooth boxing style, Los Angeles’s own Mayer (15-0-0, 5KO) stayed unbeaten via a unanimous decision win over Argentina’s Farias (26-5-0,10KO). Farias gave her all and scored some nice solid hits but they were few and far in between. She actually was no match for the former US Olympian. The scores were 97-93, 98-92, 98-92.
