DAVAO CITY – Former Philippine Boxing Federation featherweight champion KJ ‘The Ipugo’ Natuplag of Ifugao tipped the scales at 126 lbs. while undefeated Hasibullah Ahmadi of Afghanistan scaled at 127 lbs. at the official weigh-in today in Dubai.
This was confirmed by Natuplag’s manager Brico Santig of Highland Boxing Promotions.
The fight will be held tomorrow June 5 at Hilton Dubai in Al Habtoor City.
“Hydrate tapos itlog, chocolate at Pocari, Okey naman ako (Hydrate finished eggs, chocolate and Pocari, I'm okay),” said Natuplag (8W-2L-2D, 7KOs) in a Facebook.
Natuplag immediately took a rest to recover his body.
“Oo mag recover muna ako (Yes, I will recover first),” said Natuplag.
Santig, on the other hand, said that the fight will be a very close fight.
“Magandang laban ito, close fight ito (It's a good fight, it's a close fight),” said Santig.
Ahmadi (11W-0L-0D, 4KOs) scored a TKO in the 7th round against Mustapha Appiah last April 9, 2021 at the Old Kingsway Ussher-Town in Accra.
