Ardin Diale.

DAVAO CITY – Former OPBF flyweight champion Ardin Diale wants to bring back ‘The Jackal’ in him on June 26 at the Elorde Sports Center in Paranaque City.

“Oo ibalik natin yan (Yes, let's return that),” said Diale in a Facebook interview.

Diale (35W-16L-4D-17KOs) of Sarangani will challenge World Boxing Council ABCO super bantamweight champion Alvin Medura (9W-5L-0D, 7KOs) of Ipil, Zamboanga.

Diale earned the moniker ‘The Jackal’ for being a tough boxer.
He started by losing to Rodel Mayol by a technical decision for the vacant Philippine light flyweight title in Aug. 2008 in Puerto Galera. He then bowed to Chataphon Moonsri by a unanimous decision for the WBC Youth World minimumweight title in Oct. 2008 in Bangkok.

Diale then lost by a TKO to John Riel Casimero for the WBO Asia Pacific light flyweight title in July 2009 in Cebu.

He settled only for a technical draw with Jakrapong Janphirom of Thailand for the WBC Youth World flyweight title last March 2010 in Thailand.

In August 2010, Diale finally won a title by TKO over undefeated Jermie Jabel for the vacant WBO Oriental flyweight title in M’lang. Jabel was down once in Rounds 1, 2 and 3.

But Diale lost to Julio Cesar Miranda by a TKO in the 4th round for WBO World flyweight title in February 2011 in Mexico.

He came home to win the vacant Philippine flyweight title by beating Richard Garcia last September 2011 in Muntinlupa. Diale thrice defended the title against Mhar Jhun Macahilig (April 2012), Ryan Bito (Sept. 2012) and Cris Paulino (April 2013) before he went to Thailand again to fight Karoon Jarupianlerd for the vacant WBO Oriental super flyweight title in July 2013. He lost by a unanimous decision.

Diale came back by winning via TKO in the 7th round over Yota Hori of Japan last August 2013 in Korakuen Hall.

He again defended successfully his Philippine title over Jeffrey Cerna (Sept. 2013), Renerio Arizala (Oct. 2014) and Jeny Boy Boca (Nov. 2014).

On December 2, 2015, Diale won the vacant OPBF flyweight title by beating Renoel Pael via a unanimous decision in Mandaluyong.
He successfully defended the OPBF crown against Jonathan Francisco last Feb. 2016 in Taguig.

But Diale suffered a knockout in the 4th round to undefeated Daigo Higa of Japan and lost his OPBF flyweight title in July 2016.

Diale then fought Ryan Lumacad for the vacant OPBF Silver super flyweight title in Oct. 2016 in Bacoor. But the fight was stopped due to a cut on Diale's left eyebrow caused by an accidental headbutt.

He then captured the vacant WBC International flyweight title via a unanimous decision over Michael Enriquez last December 2016 in Palawan.

But Diale again gave up the title to Andrew Selby of Australia by a unanimous decision in Feb. 2017. He went to South Africa to fight for the vacant IBF International flyweight title against Moruti Mthalane but he lost by TKO in the 2nd round in Oct. 2017.

In July 2018, Diale came back to dethrone Cris Alfante and win the WBC ABCO flyweight title by a majority decision in Pasay City.

But Diale went to China to challenge WBA International flyweight champion Wulan Tuolehazi but he lost by a majority decision in July 2019.
He then suffered two successive defeats both by unanimous decision – from Yelshat Nikhemttolla (Oct. 2019, Kazakhstan) and from Yusuke Mine (Dec. 2019, Japan).

Now at 32-year-old, Diale still wants to win again.

Diale is presently at 126 lbs. and has sparred at least 80 rounds.

He recently sparred with bantamweight Ronnie Baldonado (15W-2L-1D, 9 KOs).

The fight is one of the triple main-event presented by Gabriel “Bebot” Elorde Jr. of Elorde International Productions. It is dubbed as the Night of Champions XXIII.

It will also feature the reigning Philippine super flyweight champion Cris “The King” Paulino (21W-5L-0D, 8KOs) of Antipolo against Renz “The Jaguar” Rosia (16W-9L-1D, 8KOs) of Cadiz, Negros Occidental for 12-round 115 lbs. and the battle between Jhon “The Disaster” Gemino (21W-12L-1D, 11KO) of Sinonoc and Virgel “Valiente” Vitor (15W-2L-0D, 9KOs) of Tagbilaran for the vacant Philippine featherweight championship 12-round 126 lbs.
All fights will also be shown live on Facebook and YouTube.
