DAVAO CITY -- Reigning Philippine super bantamweight champion Mark Anthony “El Heneral” Geraldo of Bukidnon suffered another injury during practice for his second title defense on May 29.

This time, Geraldo hurt his left hand and was forced to cancel his fight against undefeated Carl Jammes “Wonder Boy” Martin of Ifugao at Rizal, Laguna.

“Dili maka away si Geraldo na disgrarasya na pod and iyahang kamot (Geraldo could not fight because his hand got injured),” said lady boxing promoter Yolly Alfante of Shock Punch Boxing Promotion.

“Pero tuloy gihapon atong boxing event, same venue, same date. Si Martin gihapon ang top main event (But we still have our boxing event, same venue, same date. Martin is still the top main event),” added Alfante.

Alfante is now looking for another opponent of Martin.

“Prepare na baya tanan, very supportive ang mga tao sa Tanaw de Rizal labi na si Mayor (Everyone is ready, the people of Tanaw de Rizal are very supportive, especially the Mayor),” said Alfante.

Alfante is also preparing for a next promotion on July.

“Boxing is my life, without boxing my life is nothing. God knows how I love boxing that’s why He provided everything. So keep on punching,” said Alfante.

Aside from Alfante, also giving support to the bubble boxing event are Tanaw de Rizal Mayor Vener Munoz and Vice Mayor Antonino Aurelio and Pablo Garcia.
