DAVAO CITY – Two champions - Adrian “Wild Beast” Lerasan of Antipolo City and Thananchai “King Cobra” Charunphak of Thailand are fighting against each other on May 1 at the Workpoint Studio in Bang Phun, Thailand.

Lerasan (9W-4L-0D, 2KOs) recently won the vacant World Boxing Association Asia super flyweight title by scoring a technical knockout win over Tanes Ongjunta of Thailand in the 8th round last March 1, 2020 at the Suamlum Night Bazaar in Ratchadaphisek, Bangkok.

The 22-year-old Lerasan earlier defeated Anthony Galigao of Bohol by a unanimous decision on Nov. 10, 2019 in Gumaca.
Lerasan will leave for Thailand together with coach Richard Garcia on April 17.

He is mainly sparring with Ardin “The Jackal” Diale (35W-16L-4D, 17KOs) of Sarangani at the El Tigre Boxing Gym in Mandaluyong City.

“Tapos may mga pro boxer din po dito sa Mandaluyong (Then there are also pro boxers here in Mandaluyong),” said Lerasan.

Charunphak (11W-1L-0D, 9KOs), on the other hand, retained his title by knocking out former champion Wicha Phulaikhao in the 4th round last Nov. 7, 2020 at Workpoint.

The 20-year-old Charinphak earlier captured the vacant WBC ABC flyweight title by a TKO over Suriyan Satorn in the 9th round on March 7, 2020 at Workpoint.

The fight is promoted by Thainchai Pisitwuttinan.
