DAVAO CITY – Rejuvenated boxer Mark “The Slam Man” Sales of Gen. Santos City is going to Papua New Guinea to fight Andrew Aisanga on April 25 at the Sir John Guise Stadium in Port Moresby.

The 39-year-old Sales (23W-43L-5D, 8KOs) is presently the Asian Boxing Federation (ABF) middleweight champion after beating Prabhiot Singh of Bulacan via unanimous decision on Feb. 15, 2020 at Manila Arena in Manila.

“Chamba lang po (please just chamba),” said Sales.

Sales is now living in Lipa City in Batangas because he is now married. He put up a boxing gym since November but has been affected by the pandemic.

“Sakto lang nag lockdown na pod diri karon (It's just that the lockdown is here now),” said Sales.

He is not afraid of the lockdown but is very careful.

“Meron ako limit sa client tag two persons lang per class naku diri after ng one hour iba na naman two persons (I have a limit on the client tag, only two persons per class, here after one hour, another two persons),” said Sales.

He is being assisted by his two four-rounder at the Barako Boxing gym.

“May-ari ng building kasosyo ko kaya wala akong upa (My partner owns the building so I have no rent),” said Sales.

His sparring partner is lightweight Marbon Bodiongan (15W-9L-2D, 11KOs) of Davao City.

Aisanga, 28, on the other hand, scored a technical knockout in the 3rd round against Bostany Elo last Dec. 1, 2019 in Port Moresby.

The bubble boxing event is presented by Oceania Fight Promotions.
