Vicelles wins.
AS EXPECTED, undefeated Mark “Thunder” Vicelles of Sultan Kudarat stopped Boholano Richard Rosales in the 4th round in the main event of the Kumbati 8 last March 27 at the IPI Compound in Mandaue City.
Vicelles landed an uppercut to the body of Rosales, who did not stand up already after being hit.
It was Vicelles’ 13th win and the 7th knockout against one draw while Rosales suffered his 15th loss against 14 win and two draw.
Rosales was a late substitute for Arnold Garde of Davao, who got sick.
“Naglisod sad kay bug-at ug dako man gud veterano sad siya (It's hard because he's heavy and he's also a big veteran),” said Vicelles.
Vicelles patiently waited for the right timing against Rosales.
“Na chambahan lang po,” said Vicelles.
Meanwhile, super featherweight Tomjune Mangubat of Bukidnon retired Ryan Maano of Cebu after the 4th round.
Mangubat downed Maano in the 3rd round with three uppercuts. He hurt Maano again with two uppercuts in the 4th round.
Mangubat improved his record to 13 wins with 11 knockouts against two setbacks and one draw.
The other bouts, flyweight Regie Suganob stopped Paolo Sy in the 3rd round while super flyweight Luis Borje settled to a draw with Rodel Suganog.
The bubble boxing event is promoted by Pio Castillo Jr. of Omega Boxing Promotions.
