LAS VEGAS ?- In an accidental meeting at the lobby of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino last March 13, former nemesis Marco Antonio Barrera and Manny Pacquiao greeted each other like long lost friends with the now semi-retired Mexican ?Baby Faced Assassin? whispering to his two-time tormentor that he was placing his bet on him.

?Of course I?m a Mexican so my heart is with Marquez, but my money is on Pacquiao,? Barrera told several Filipino journalists present when he arrived conspicuously with a male and two female companions.

Pacquiao, who was on his way to the IBA Gym for a regular workout, confirmed what Barrera had whispered to him.

Barrera merely repeated to Pacquiao the statement he said earlier even as he predicted that Marquez will win on points.

The former world champion, who lost by a controversial decision to compatriot Juan Manuel Marquez to yield his World Boxing Council (WBC) superfeatherweight crown before losing to Pacquiao in a rematch last year, also confirmed that he has not yet retired.

?I?m still waiting for a word from Oscar Dela Hoya (of the Golden Boy Promotion),? said Barrera who disclosed that he now weighs around 140 lbs.

Barrera also confirmed an offer for him to appear in a TV commercial for a beer product in the Philippines where he will join Marquez, Erik Morales and Pacquiao in a multi-million commercial deal after the March 15 rematch between Pacquiao and Marquez dubbed the ?Unfinished Business.?
