WBO Oriental featherweight champion Eric Canoy is slated to return to action in May, revealed his co-promoters Sammy Gello-ani and Congressman Erbie Fabian in separate interviews today.
Fabian, who is set to depart for the United States tomorrow to be at ringside for the Manny Pacquiao-Juan Manuel Marquez showdown accompanied by Zamboanga's Dr. Bonjing Feliciano and Rod Balbon, is confident his ward will have a more impressive showing in May, where he will have more time for training.
While in the US, Fabian is also set to meet with some old friends and acquiantances from Zamboanga in a get-together to be held in Henderson City. His trip in the United States will also allow him to take a closer look at how events are run, and how careers are managed among elite-level fighters.
Canoy is coming off a ninth-round technical knockout win over Tanzanian Rajabu Maoja last February 23 in Zamboanga City.
