BATAWANG FACES 'KILLER' AMOL ON APRIL 6

One-time world title challenger Bert "Ninja" Batawang will have a tougher than usual comeback fight when he takes on Indonesian 'killer' Heri Amol in a ten-round non-title bout on April 6 at the Araneta Coliseum.

The bout takes place underneath the Gerry Penalosa-Ratanachai Sor Vorapin showdown, which will also feature three young prospects Rey "Boom Boom" Bautista, AJ "Bazooka" Banal and Ciso "Kid Terrible" Morales.

Batawang will try to rebound from a heart-breaking loss to IBF light flyweight champ Ulises Solis, this time against the very dangerous Amol.

The Indo fighter gained some measure of notoriety after his tragic bout with ex-WBC champ Yo Sam Choi of Korea last December 25.

Amol lost to Choi via unanimous decision, but the latter collapsed in his dressing room and subsequently fell into coma and died days after in a South Korean hospital.

Amol sent Choi down on the canvas in the final round, but that was not enough to get a win as the Korean gained enough lead to take a decision nod after the fight.
