Boracay Island, Philippines – Coached by a defensive-savvy tactician in Filipino-American Erik Spoelstra and loaded with players who buy into the system, the Miami Heat edged the Milwaukee Bucks 105-89 on Monday night (Tuesday morning, Philippine time) at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida.

The Heat became the first team to beat the Bucks twice, thus far, this season and remained spotless against the league’s top team.

Jimmy Butler, Jae Crowder, and Bam Adebayo connived to strangle the reigning league MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, who was held to just 13 points after registering 41 markers the night before. Butler and Crowder finished with 18 points apiece for Miami.

Adebayo stuffed the stats sheet with 14 points, 13 boards, 5 dimes, 1 steal, and 3 blocks for the Heat, who improved to 39 wins and 22 losses to stay at 4th place in the Eastern Conference team standings.

Even with the loss, though, the Bucks remained at the top of the overall team standings with a 52-9 win-loss record.

The Heat will next host the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night (Thursday morning, Philippine time).

Meanwhile, the Bucks will travel home to face the Indiana Pacers on the same night.
