
Silvestre loses to Nazarov in Cambodia

DAVAO CITY -- Orthodox Orlie Silvestre of Davao City failed in his attempt to try to grab the World Boxing Organization Oriental flyweight title from Olimjon Nazarov of Uzbekistan by a unanimous decision last Feb. 29 at the Felix Hotel Casino in Bavet, Cambodia.
The 26-year old Silvestre suffered his sixth loss against 15 wins and two draws while Nazarov add 22 wins against five defeats.
Silvestre had three wins out of four fights with one draw last year.
He won the vacant Philippine light flyweight title by a split decision over Jonathan Refugio of Malaybalay last Dec. 15 in Gen. Santos City.
Meanwhile, lightweight Adones Aguelo of Mandaue also lost by a unanimous decision to Abdurasul Ismoilov of Uzbekistan in the under card.
The other fight saw bantamweight Aries Buenavidez of Davao City also lost by a unanimous decision to Van Thao Tran of Vietnam.
