DAVAO CITY -- Veteran boxing promoter Brico Santig of Highland International Boxing Promotions will receive an award in the 2019 South East Asia Promoter of the Year on March 14 at the Athenee Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand.

The presentation will be held at the gala dinner night at 7 p.m.
"The achievement is just part of my passion in boxing, if you did something good then it follows," said the 45-year old Santig.

Santig, who hails from La Trinidad, Benguet is based already in Bangkok, Thailand but has been a regular promoter in the Philippines.

He recently won as the top boxing promoter of 2019 among the local promoters of the Philippines.

He has a total of 12 promotions with 17 titles last year.

Santig has just started promoting again this year with a five championship titles promotion in Manila last Feb. 15.
Meanwhile, the invited guest of honor is World Boxing Council president Mauricio Sulaiman of Mexico.

The awarding night is part of the three-day WBC MuayThai world convention on March 14-16.

"This year we planned quite a spectacle to celebrate the continued success of both WBC Asia boxing and WBC MuayThai with a grand convention at the Athenee Hotel," said Pol. Gen. Kovid Bhadibhumi, the WBC Asia President and WBC Vice-President.
The convention will also host a two-day, in-depth WBC Asia boxing ring officials seminar on March 15 and 16.

"This is a great opportunity for aspiring and experienced boxing ring officials to gain more professional knowledge and attain official WBC Asian Boxing Council ring official certification," said Bhadibhumi.
