Boracay Island, Philippines – LeBron James had another triple-double, finishing with 21 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 assists to help the LA Lakers eke out a 106-99 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Sunday night (Monday morning, Philippine time) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
Anthony Davis also flirted with a triple-double, as he added 24 markers, 11 boards, 2 dimes, 3 steals, and 8 blocked. The other big men JaVale McGee and Dwight Howard were also monsters protecting the paint with 6 and 5 blocks, respectively, for the Lakers, who finished with 20 swats as a team.
Derrick Rose topscored for the Pistons with 28 markers off the bench. Detroit could only muster 34 combined points for its starters, however, as two of them – Tim Frazier and Tony Snell - couldn’t even score a single point.
With the loss, the Pistons dropped to 13 wins and 24 losses for 11th place in the Eastern Conference team standings. They will travel to Cleveland to face the Cavaliers on Tuesday night (Wednesday morning, Philippine time).
