Tagbilaran City, Bohol – For the first time in December 2019, the Minnesota Timberwolves have finally won a game. At the same time, they also snapped their 11-game losing streak by beating the Sacramento Kings in double-overtime 105-104 on Thursday night (Friday morning, Philippine time) at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California.

Andrew Wiggins ignited a 6-0 run in the second overtime period and flirted with a triple double, finishing with 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists to lead Minnesota to its 11th victory against 19 defeats. Gorgui Dieng, who started in place of injured star Karl-Anthony Towns, had a double-double of 21 markers and 15 boards, to go with 2 steals and 1 block for the Timberwolves, who are still the 3rd worst team in the Western Conference team standings in spite of the win.

Rashaun Holmes led the Kings with 20 points and career-high 18 boards. Bogdan Bogdanovic added 19 markers off the bench, but shot an atrocious 8-for-28 from the field, including 3-for-16 from behind the arc.

Marvin Bagley III scored 18 points before leaving the game for good in the third frame due to a foot injury. Earlier, just 2 minutes into the ballgame, De’Aaron Fox also left due to back spasms.

The Kings, who dropped to a 12-19 win-loss card, will try to bounce back, as they host the Phoenix Suns on Saturday night (Sunday morning, Philippine time).

Meanwhile, the Timberwolves will try to sustain the momentum and fly home to face the Cleveland Cavaliers on the same night.
