Magali to face Toyogon for vacant RP super feather title on Dec. 21 in Manila

DAVAO CITY -- Former Orient and Pacific Boxing Federation super featherweight champion Carlo "The Ferocious" Magali of Bohol will fight Al "Rock" Toyogon of Misamis Oriental for the vacant Philippine super featherweight title on Dec. 21 at the New Manila Cockpit Arena in Tondo, Manila.

The 33-year old Magali (24W-13L-3D, 13KO) recently TKO'd Nathan Bolcio of Benquet in the 1st round last Aug. 3 in Mandaluyong.
Magali, however suffered a unanimous decision loss to Billel Dib of Australia for the WBA Oceania super featherweight title last Sept. 14 in New South Wales.

Toyogon, on the other hand, earlier won the WBC Asiab Boxing Council Silver super featherweight title by a unanimous decision over Ryusei Ishii of Japan last Jan. 26 in Paranaque.

But he lost to Ryo Sagawa of Japan in a title-defense last May 4 at Paranaque.

The 21-year old Toyogon (10W-5L-1D, 6KO) recently lost to Jorge Linares of Venezuela by a unanimous decision last Sept. 7 at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.

Meanwhile, undefeated Carl Jammes "Wonder Boy" Martin (14W-0L-0D, 13KO) of Ifugao will defend his Philippine Boxing Federation bantamweight title against Philip Luis "Destroyer" Cuerdo (11W-8L-1D, 4KO) of Paranaque.

Martin recently TKO'd Benezer Alolod of Cotabato in the 7th round to win the vacant PBF bantamweight title last Sept. 20 in Mandaluyong.

Cuerdo, on the other hand, lost to Denmark Quibido of Misamis Oriental by a majority decision last Oct. 26 in Valenzuela City.
The boxing promoters are Brico Santig of Highland Boxing Team and Darwin Miller Depay of DMAD Boxing Promotion.
