NBA Daily: Celtics Squeak Past Kings 103-102, Survive Hield's Career High 41

Boracay Island, Philippines – The Boston Celtics may still be reeling from the injuries to top guns Kemba Walker, who sustained a neck strain, and Gordon Hayward, who fractured his hand, but Brad Stevens’ wards still found a way to win.
The Smart-Brown-Tatum-Kanter quartet made sure they got this one in the bag, as the Boston Celtics survived Buddy Hield’s career high 41 points, to eke out a 103-102 thriller over the Sacramento Kings on Monday night (Tuesday morning, Philippine time) at the TD Garden Arena in Boston, Massachusetts.
They were also without starting big man Daniel Theis due to an illness. Jalen Brown had team high honors with 24 points, while Jason Tatum added 20 markers for Boston. Enes Kanter was solid in the middle, finishing with 13 points of his own, to go along with 9 boards, 2 dimes and 1 steal.
Marcus Smart had two key conversions, including the go-ahead basket with 31 seconds remaining in the ballgame. He also had 3 rebounds, 7 assists, 5 steals and 1 block for the Celtics, who stayed unbeaten at home and improved to a 12-4 win-loss card.
Hield was magnificent for Sacramento, connecting 5 triples on the way to 21 points in the third canto alone. He finished with 11 treys, including 5 boards, 2 dimes, and a blocked shot. Hield’s prolific scoring from deep was negated by the horrific shooting of Bogdan Bogdanovic, who shot 2-for-15 from behind the arc. Harrison Barnes added 20 points for the Kings, who dropped to 7 wins and 9 losses.
Up next for the Kings are the 76ers in Philadelphia on Wednesday night (Thursday morning, Philippine time).
Meanwhile, the Celtics will host the Brooklyn Nets on the same date.
